• Description

  Time had begun to slow her, aided by injuries sustained during the Second Great Wizarding War. No longer did she thunder blindly down corridors with an angry sneer upon her face - the stiff gait and twisted wooden cane had seen to that. Age, or the wear of a hard life, had begun to touch the color of her hair, but wild fire still burned in her green eyes. These days her manner was calmer, and her study unceasing, for the greatest teacher is the greatest student.
  
  She towered over most, favoring tall heels that added to her already impressive height. The wasted look of her, swathed in black robes had occasionally evoked the image of Death to some.
  
  Two scars, faint and silvery, traced from mid-forehead to mid-cheek across the left side of her face. It was plainly visible that the incident which had left those scars had also done some injury to the underlying orb, for the pupil was pinched and the iris had taken on the appearance of a blot of green ink, seeping into the white around it. Whether or not it was blind, she did not disclose.

• Biography

  Wilhelmina is the daughter of a wandmaker and an "armchair alchemist".
  
  She began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the year 1972, and was sorted into Slytherin.

  Though coming from a pure blood family, she was not well-liked. In addition to being known as the daughter of a wandmaker who specialized in cantankerous and mean-spirited wands - her father's refusal to provide wands to the children of those known to be involved in dark wizardry, as well as his refusal to produce replacements for those who had "lost" their own was well known.
  
  She graduated with excellent marks, and asked to stay on as a teacher's aide until such time as she could complete her further education. For a brief period she taught ancient runes, before replacing Professor Severus Snape as Potion's Master, after his untimely death.

  Wilhelmina was known to have been an excellent teacher, on par with her predecessor. It came as some surprise to others when she was abruptly dismissed from her teaching position. Students later said there must have been some work-related stress involved, as they had seen a rapid decline in her health and demeanor during their years with her as professor.
  
  Not long after there was a minor scandal, something spoken of in terms akin to gossip, rather than horror - that she had been arrested at St. Mungos, suffering from the bite of a poisonous "pet". She was later tried for unlawful breeding of a magical creature. It had been labelled a basilisk, but between testimony and the repeated survival of those who looked at it, her assertion that it was merely a magical hybrid of two nonmagical snakes was accepted.
  
  After this, Wilhelmina began working as the primary staff of her father's wand shop.
